Representatives of the Central Texas Questers met
on Wed., June 14th 2006
at the Williamson County Museum in Georgetown
to present $900 to the Director,
Chris Dyer. This donation will be used to
purchase much needed exhibit
cases for the museum.

The
highlight of the Quester chapters was the "Spring Fling" Luncheon and
Collectible Show held on April 22 in Georgetown. A fund-raising raffle was
held that day to raise monies for two worthy projects: the Williamson County
Historical Museum and the Ima Hogg family cemetery at the Oakwood Cemetery
in Austin.
Questers, founded in 1944 by Jessie Elizabeth Bardens, now has more than 900
chapters with 15,000 members in the United States an Canada. Chapters
Enthusiastically support preservation and restoration projects. The Quester
award two annual scholarships to graduate students in historical
preservation and an annual graduate fellowship in art conservation.
There
are presently eight chapters in Central Texas , including five in Sun City,
one in Georgetown, one in Round Rock, and one in Austin, with a total of 130
members.
