Original St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, erected in 1893, (on left) and the more
recent church, built in 1912, which was later moved to Wuthrich Hill in 1948.
New Bern was the destination for many Swiss immigrants in the 1880s, who named
the community after their native Bern.
